Who we are
Tops’l Sailcruise Ltd is a sailing club owned and operated by its members on a voluntary basis. We’re a community of keen sailors who take pride in working together to keep the club running smoothly for everyone involved. Our ethos places an emphasis on safety, skills development, and preventive maintenance.
The club is led by a group of directors who are elected by members at our Annual General Meeting. Alongside them are a number of other non-appointed key roles. Mentors help fellow members develop their sailing skills, Bosuns take the lead on maintaining the boats, and volunteers support new joiners and take care of admin work.

Tops’l was founded in 1979 by a group of British Airways pilots who loved sailing but, due to their schedules, saw little point in each owning a boat. They came together to form a club where resources could be shared, creating an affordable and flexible way to sail. Read more…
