A club run by sailors, for sailors
Tops’l is run by its members – experienced sailors who share a passion for being on the water. From keeping the yachts in top condition, to mentoring new members, our team makes sure the club runs smoothly.
The club is overseen by a team of directors, but it is a real team effort. Our mentors and bosuns are always on hand to offer advice, whether you need help planning a voyage or just a few tips on handling the boats. It is this hands-on, supportive approach that makes Tops’l such a great club.
Thanks to the dedication and experience of our members, the club continues to grow and evolve, welcoming sailors of all abilities and backgrounds.

Tops’l was founded in 1979 by a group of British Airways pilots who loved sailing but, due to their schedules, saw little point in each owning a boat. They came together to form a club where resources could be shared, creating an affordable and flexible way to sail. Read more…
